JOB SUMMARY

The LATCH Junior Windows Server Administrator role is dedicated to managing and enhancing the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) infrastructure within a Windows Server framework. This position requires a candidate with profound knowledge of Windows Server, paired with comprehensive system administration skills, aimed at ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of our digital resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Maintain and optimize Windows Server infrastructure supporting our content management system.
  • Install, configure, and manage instances of our content management system, including author, publish, and dispatcher configurations.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of content management services by monitoring server health, performance metrics, and logs.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to coordinate deployments and troubleshoot issues.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery processes for content and configurations.
  • Maintain security best practices for the Windows server environment, including regular patching and vulnerability assessments.
  • Support the customer technical leads in any authority to operate (ATO) activities.
  • Work with IT and networking teams to ensure network configurations, firewalls, and load balancers are optimized for the content management system.
  • Document procedures, infrastructure configurations, and best practices.
  • Perform daily testing of the infrastructure to ensure availability.
  • Collaborate with automation team to create testing robotic process automation (RPA).
  • Support the team as an on-call resource.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

It is desirable that the candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Recent Windows Server administration.
  • Managing and maintaining installations of the content management system.
  • Managing, maintain, tune, and optimize Java Platform Enterprise Edition (JEE), Java Development Kit (JDK), and Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
  • Understanding of networking principles, including load balancing, DNS, and firewall configurations.
  • Knowledge of databases, structured query language (SQL), and database servers (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

It is desirable that the candidate has the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience with Lambda
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years’ experience with Windows Server administration.
  • 1+ years’ experience with scripting
  • 1+ year experience with Java Platform Enterprise Edition (JEE), Java Development Kit (JDK), and Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and optimization.
  • CompTIA certifications such as A+, Network, Server+ or Microsoft certifications.
