JOB SUMMARY
Lalaith Astor Technical Consulting House (LATCH) is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support DISA OSS sustainment for key OSS components across production and lab environments. OSS services provide network or computing services to other devices/servers. Many OSS firewalls are end-of-life/end-of-support and must be replaced per DoD policy. This task facilitates replacing legacy equipment with new, accredited devices and ensuring smooth cutover and ongoing sustainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Job responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide Tier III support, including qualifying new devices; creating device configuration/routing/implementation guides; and troubleshooting issues during and after installs.
- During qualification, apply required patches and hardening (IAVAs, DISA Tasking Orders, STIGs) to support accreditation.
- Support newly deployed firewalls after cutover (sustainment).
- Provide configuration and testing support for IPv6/dual-stack transitions (lab and production guidance).
- Provide configuration and testing support for SNMPv3 transitions (lab and production guidance).
- Execute firewall replacements: qualify devices, produce deployment artifacts, and resolve deployment issues.
- Deliver break-fix services: troubleshoot and restore service; update tickets; brief management on time/cost for fixes.
- Perform ongoing software updates & configuration changes as needed for security compliance and operations (patches, STIG-driven changes, firmware/OS updates, ACAS-scan support, customer-requested configurations).
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with LDAP, RSA SecurID, TACACS, Syslog Server, DNS Bind, SAN/NAS/Brocade Switches, NTP, and RDP.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification (e.g., Security+).
- Experience in DoD enterprise environments and accreditation workflows.
- Familiarity with firewall migration cutovers at scale and lab-to-production promotion processes.
- Scripting/automation for device configuration validation and compliance reporting.
- Knowledge of change management and ticketing in ITSM tools.
