JOB SUMMARY
Lalaith Astor Technical Consulting House (LATCH) is seeking an experienced Software Developer to support DISA OSS sustainment for key OSS components—specifically JSME (which consolidates JSMPS and JIST). JIST automates the SAR/SAA process; JSMPS supports planning and management of UHF and commercial SATCOM resources for USSTRATCOM, COCOMs, JTFs, components, and the Joint Staff. The objective is to keep JSME running in production and lab until its replacement is available.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Job responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide sustainment support: break-fix, patching, IAVA remediation, software updates/upgrades, configuration guidance, routine maintenance, and testing for configuration/software/OS/hardware changes; components include Oracle Database, WebLogic, and Java.
- Perform break-fix: troubleshoot issues, restore service, update tickets, and brief management on scope, time, and cost.
- Conduct recurring maintenance: renew expiring soft certificates, purge logs, make minor config changes, and perform routine activities to keep systems running.
- Maintain security compliance & accreditation: keep lab systems current with patches and STIGs across OS and COTS/GOTS layers.
- Deliver system upgrades (IA-driven for EOL components); a database upgrade is anticipated; provide configuration guidance as systems are upgraded.
- Verify lab and production responsiveness to regular security scans and troubleshoot scan issues.
- Support C&A for lab and production by supplying STIG/scan information to the ISSM; test all upgrades/config changes/fixes in lab before production.
- Develop and collect monthly performance metrics across hosting platform, database, and application tiers.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting Oracle Database, WebLogic, and Java in production sustainment contexts.
- Demonstrated hands-on work with STIGs, IAVA remediation, and lab-first testing prior to production release.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with DoD sustainment programs and accreditation workflows.
- Familiarity with SATCOM mission context and performance monitoring across platform/DB/app tiers.
- Scripting/automation for metrics collection and reporting.
- Experience planning/running IA-driven upgrades for end-of-life components.
