JOB SUMMARY
LATCH is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide hands-on expertise in integrating with Okta, developing Okta Workflows, working with APIs, and developing secure, standards-based identity and access management solutions. This position reports to the IAM Team Lead and is a key role in a fast-paced, Agile engineering team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Job responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Using Okta Workflows and automation capabilities to streamline identity lifecycle management.
- Building and supporting APIs to connect systems and applications with Okta.
- Designing and implementing identity federation and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
- Implementing OIDC integrations with Okta and supporting related identity protocols (SAML, OAuth).
- Supporting application onboarding for authentication and authorization.
- Collaborating with the IAM Team Lead and Enterprise Security teams to continuously enhance the security posture.
- Creating and maintaining documentation and diagrams for ICAM processes and integrations.
- Mentoring junior engineers on best practices in IAM and secure system integration.
required qualifications and skills
The selected candidate must have the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an IT position, such as systems administration, systems engineering, development, or identity management.
- Strong hands-on experience with OIDC, the modern SSO standard.
- Experience with authentication protocols such as SAML and OAuth.
- Hands-on experience with Okta Workflows.
- Experience working with and developing APIs; some development experience preferred.
- Proven experience integrating and optimizing Okta solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments and supporting CI/CD workflows.
desired qualifications and skills
It is desirable that the candidate has the following qualifications and skills:
- Familiarity with integration of IAM into AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and DevOps practices.
- Prior experience in federal or regulated environments is a plus.
Bonus points for
- Experience implementing and maintaining advanced Okta Inline Hooks (Token, SAML Assertion, Registration, Event), including serverless hook infrastructure using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
- Advanced expertise designing and implementing complex Okta Workflows, including multi-branch logic, error handling, reusable subflows, API connector development, and end-to-end lifecycle automation for high-volume identity environments.
- Expertise integrating Okta with enterprise logging and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk), including building identity-related detection rules, dashboards, and automated remediation workflows.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience with Okta.
- 10+ years of relevant experience with systems engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field OR no degree with 13+ years of directly relevant systems and development experience.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Salary Range
$145,000 – $155,000 per year
