JOB SUMMARY
LATCH is seeking a Senior Data Storage Administrator / Cloud Architect to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), Information Technology Operations Division (Code 104). This position is responsible for architecting, managing, and securing data storage systems and cloud infrastructure in support of enterprise-level IT operations. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise in cloud engineering, data lifecycle management, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Job responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Design, implement, and maintain data storage architectures that support secure and scalable operations.
- Engineer and manage cloud-based infrastructure solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS in accordance with DoD and Navy requirements.
- Develop technical strategies and cloud governance plans to guide migration and modernization efforts.
- Conduct requirements analysis and recommend storage and cloud technologies aligned with mission needs.
- Ensure data integrity through backup, replication, disaster recovery, and storage redundancy strategies.
- Manage access control, encryption, and monitoring mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
- Integrate data storage systems with enterprise platforms and applications.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure RMF and NIST 800-53 compliance in storage and cloud environments.
- Develop documentation for architectures, configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement optimizations for cloud and storage systems.
- Provide operational support for incident response, troubleshooting, and system recovery.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The selected candidate must have the following qualifications and skills:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain within 45 days of award).
- Proficiency in cloud architecture, deployment, and administration (Azure, AWS).
- Expertise in enterprise data storage solutions and best practices.
- Experience implementing cybersecurity controls in storage and cloud environments.
- Ability to develop and manage POA&Ms, technical strategies, and cloud roadmaps.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
It is desirable that the candidate has the following qualifications and skills:
- Familiarity with Navy IT enterprise environments and DoD cloud service providers.
- Experience supporting large-scale data migrations and hybrid cloud deployments.
- Knowledge of containerization, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Experience in high-availability and distributed storage systems.
Salary
Up to $160,000 a year.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in software engineering or IT systems architecture, including at least three (3) years in a cloud engineering or architecture role supporting enterprise cloud adoption and governance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university.
- Certification: Must hold one of the following IAT Level III baseline certifications:
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (or Associate)
- GCED
- GCIH
- CCSP
